Advice: Out of sight, out of mind.
One of the best ways to control your snack food cravings is to not keep unhealthy foods around the house.  If unhealthy foods are not in the house it is a lot harder for a person to eat that unhealthy food.  If the person has to go to the store to buy the food it might just be too much trouble and the craving will pass.  The packaging of snack foods make them look irresistible and delicious since that is the purpose of the packaging.  Seeing the packaging will make you crave that food.  If you can't see the snack food you are less likely to crave it. 

If you must have snack foods in the house keep it in a cupboard or store it somewhere out of sight.  If the food is out in the open and you see it you are very likely to eat it whereas if it is hidden you may not even be aware that it is in the house.
